HOOPS Review - Game 5: Reapers vs Young Goatz
Hey there!
I’m hoping you enjoyed your weekend, and happy Hump Day!
Also, I hope you enjoyed last Friday’s edition of The Pipeline series! I’m really excited about the future of AceBoy Sports Group and what we have planned moving forward. That being said, our Reapers…. oh boy!
Once again, the Reapers have yet to win a game this season, and are now 0-5! The game against the Young Goatz ended with a final score of 47-49. Unfortunately, Jorel had rolled his ankle the week before in a scrimmage, so the best he could do was coach for the evening. No Reaper scored double digits apart from Zavante with 10, but at least three-quarters of the team scored 7 points or more.
What didn’t go so well…
What was just embarrassing was that the Young Goatz only had five players for the whole game, no subs, nothing! We actually went into the second half up by at least 15 points, but that is where it went wrong. We got too comfortable and went into cruise control, thinking the first win is already in the bag. But it ain’t over until its over! Credit to the Young Goatz for fighting and not giving up, but once again, we beat ourselves. We rushed shots in the second half and didn’t focus on the grind it out, energy filled offensive sets that gave us our lead.
What went pretty well…
We played extremely well offensively, and to put up 47 points without Jorel was an accomplishment in itself, and is giving the whole team a lot of confidence for the next game when he’s back. We also out-rebounded them 33-18, which is a fantastic effort! No we just need to put it all together and produce some wins.
What to look forward to next game…
Our next game is this Saturday, December 17th against the Splash Brothers. This will be a tough game, but as long as we compete, rebound and slow things down on offense, we can hopefully get a positive result! Starting 0-5 is awful, but we have competed each and every game, and to be honest, we’ve improved in some facet each game too.
I hope you enjoyed this mid-week review, look out for the next edition on Friday!
Enjoy the rest of your week!
